Health Professions Move
College of Health Professions on the Round Rock Campus
St. David's School of Nursing opened to students in 2010.
In 2018, three College of Health Professions departments moved from San Marcos to the Round Rock Campus:
Two more programs moved to the RRC in 2021:
For bachelor’s degree programs in these departments, all upper-level (junior and senior) courses will take place at Round Rock.
Lower-level (freshman and sophomore) bachelor’s degree courses will continue to be completed at Texas State’s San Marcos campus or another institution.
All graduate-level courses in these departments will take place at Round Rock.
The University’s strategic priority is to position the Round Rock Campus to become a focal point for health professions education, while ensuring the community is served for high demand disciplines and professions. To accomplish this addition, the University is orchestrating a multi-phase migration of departments, programs and clinical functions from the San Marcos Campus to the Round Rock Campus.
As a growing hub for medical services, the Round Rock Campus offers numerous opportunities for students to gain practical experience in their fields. Students will also have access to state-of-the-art technologies in the Nursing Building, home of St. David's School of Nursing, and in Willow Hall, the health professions building.
For now, some departments and offices of the College of Health Professions will remain on the San Marcos campus.
