Tips for a Smooth Start at Texas State Round Rock Campus
We are pleased you will be completing your graduate degree at Texas State Round Rock Campus. The following information lists some simple tips to ensure a smooth start as a new graduate student:
1. Establish Login Information:
Be sure to set up your Texas State NetID and Password which will allow you to register for classes and check your BobcatMail.
2. Explore Classes Needed:
Begin by determining classes for which you need to register. The recommended sequences of courses can typically be found on the departmental website or by logging in to view your Degree Audit Report online.
3. Determine When You Can Register:
Your access times are available to view by logging in to Self-Service and then selecting Check Holds and Registration Eligibility. You can also view general access times by choosing the appropriate semester from the Registrar's Office website.
4. Review the Online Round Rock Campus New Student Orientation:
Learn about the RRC as well as the resources and services available to you as a new Bobcat by reviewing the ONLINE Round Rock Campus New Student Orientation.
5. Explore Schedule of Classes & Register:
Click on the following link to explore course options at the Round Rock Campus. If you plan to take courses at both San Marcos and Round Rock, we recommend utilizing the Bobcat Scheduler Builder. Then review the Instructions on how to register for classes.
6. Order Your Parking Permit Online:
Be sure to order your Parking Permit before classes begin! (You will need to input your vehicle information and license plate number.)
7. Pay Your Tuition Bill:
Be sure to pay your tuition and fee bill online prior to the payment deadline. You can access the Academic Calendar online for all of the key dates related to registration.
8. Order Textbooks:
The University Bookstore is available to our students either online or by visiting the San Marcos campus. (We do not have a bookstore at the Round Rock Campus.)
9. Take Your ID Card Picture:
Stop by Student Services (Avery 201) during normal business hours to take your ID Card picture. The card will then be available for pick-up within 2 - 3 business days once a tuition payment has been made.
10. Check in at TRACS:
TRACS is the online resource for communication between students and faculty. Prior to attending class, it is good to familiarize yourself with this excellent resource through a video tutorial. Begin checking TRACS a week or so before classes begin for information pertaining to your specific classes.
