Texas State Transfer Admission Requirements
To be considered for transfer admission, you must have a minimum of 30 credit hours and a GPA of 2.25 or higher in all transferable courses attempted. Earlier deadlines and additional application requirements pertain to some of the degree programs. Please click on any of the following degrees for complete admission requirements.

How to Apply to Texas State University
In order to meet the transfer admission requirements, you must submit the following documentation to Texas State’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to the above deadlines:

  • The ApplyTexas Application
  • The Application Fee
  • All Official Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended 
***If you intend to take the majority of your Texas State classes at the Round Rock Campus, be sure to indicate your intended campus at the end of the application.
 
After You Apply
If you are accepted to Texas State University, you will receive an acceptance letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in the mail. However we recommend you monitor the status of your application online at www.admissions.txstate.edu/asc. As soon as you are admitted or once the application status says "Admit to Institution", proceed to the following steps:
  • Schedule an appointment with a RRC Academic Advisor by calling 512-716-4040. You will be asked to provide your new student ID number.
  • The advisor will review your transfer work according to your desired degree plan and then inform you of your next steps:

1) Continue taking courses at a local community college and defer your admission file to a future semester.

OR 

2) The advisor will assist you with signing up for RRC New Student Orientation.   
 
Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid at Texas State, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Texas State’s school code is 003615. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov for details. To apply for financial aid for the summer session, you must also complete the Summer Aid Application by March 1.
