Texas State Transfer Admission Requirements
To be considered for transfer admission, you must have a minimum GPA of 2.25 in all transferable courses attempted. Earlier deadlines and additional application requirements pertain to some of the degree programs. Please click through on any of the following degrees for complete admission requirements for each specific program.

***The College of Education and The McCoy College of Business no longer implement
earlier deadlines. McCoy College does however have transfer priority dates which can
be viewed on the Undergraduate Admissions webpage.
How to Apply to Texas State
In addition to meeting the transfer admission requirements (see
www.admissions.txstate.edu/future/transfer.html), you must also submit the following documentation to Texas State’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the appropriate deadlines:
- The ApplyTexas Application, application fee and all required credentials (visit www.applytexas.org) If you intend to take most of your Texas State classes at the Round Rock Campus, be sure to indicate that on your application.
- Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended.
After You Apply
If you are accepted to Texas State, you will receive an acceptance letter from the Office of Undergraduate
Admissions in the mail. However we recommend you monitor the status of your application
online at
www.admissions.txstate.edu/asc. As soon as you learn you are accepted, you should:
- Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor at the RRC by calling 512-716-4040. You will be asked to provide your new student ID number.
- The advisor will then inform you of your next step:
1) continue taking courses at the local community college and defer your admission
file to a future semester to establish junior level status.
OR
Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid at Texas State, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA). Texas State’s school code is 003615. Visit
www.fafsa.ed.gov for details. To apply for financial aid for the summer session, you must also complete the Summer Aid Application by March 1.
