Field of Study/Major: Psychology

Why Molly Chose Psychology

"My path has zigged and zagged in many exciting directions, and the people I have met along the way have inspired me to become a student of human behavior. I am especially interested in making the field more scientific through research, and informing practice accordingly. I believe quality research and treatment can improve lives and help people cope with conditions such as mental illness, addiction, and grief."

Bobcat's Tale

"I recently moved to Round Rock specifically to be close to the Round Rock Campus. I have a fine arts degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, and though I am entering the psychology field, I still plan to work as an artist as much as possible. Aside from my classes, I am also participating in some research projects, volunteer work, and I keep busy as the president of the Round Rock Psychology Association at Texas State. Also, I plan to be a tour guide for my campus, and I recently accepted a position in the president's cabinet for the Associated Student Government at Texas State San Marcos as a liaison for RRC."

Years Attending Classes at the RRC

"I have been in the Psychology program for a year."

Looking Towards the Future

"In ten years I hope to be teaching, counseling, doing research, and I hope to be able to sign my name followed by "Ph.D." I don't know if I will have put down roots by then, but I imagine I will be helping my siblings and their spouses usher my six nieces and nephews into young-adulthood."
