"I have always been interested in psychology since I was in high school. It's fascinating to learn how and why people do what they do, and how they react to different social environments. The field of health psychology is particularly interesting to me because it is the study of how biological, psychological, environmental, and cultural factors are involved in physical health and the prevention of illness. I get excited every time I think about the idea of working in the psychology field the rest of my life. Therefore, the decision was easy to pick psychology as my major."
"I was born in Austin and have lived here my entire life. The first years of my higher education were spent at Austin Community College before I transferred to Texas State. I work full time for a computer repair company near central Austin performing administrative tasks. In my spare time I enjoy running or yoga to relieve stress and stay healthy. My weekends are usually spent playing board or card games with friends and eating at local restaurants. During the current semester I have been serving as the Vice President of the Texas State Round Rock Psychology Association. I have taken as many classes as possible at the Round Rock Campus because it is more convenient. Most of the classes are offered at night, so it is more flexible with my work schedule. The campus is beautiful, and the close parking is a huge bonus when compared to San Marcos."
"Since Fall 2010 (3 semesters)."
"Within five years I will obtain a Masters in Health Psychology from Texas State. In the next ten years I would like to obtain a Doctorate in Health Psychology from the University of North Texas or University of Texas. In twenty years I aspire to be a professor of psychology, my dream job."
