Master's Degrees

Texas State at the Round Rock Campus

Students can take all classes required for the Master’s degrees listed below. To take the graduate classes at the Round Rock Campus (RRC), you must first apply and be accepted to Texas State University-San Marcos. Once you are accepted into a particular program, you just sign up for classes held at the RRC.

Graduate classes offered at the Graduate School are generally designed for part-time students who would prefer to attend classes evenings or weekends. This makes our programs perfect for those who are working or have other daytime commitments. Even though you will be attending classes at the RRC, you will earn your master’s degree from Texas State University-San Marcos!

If you already know what program you want to pursue please visit our Getting Started Checklist: http://www.rrc.txstate.edu/prospective/starting/grad.html

Our largest programs are in the field of education, including Elementary Education, Educational Administration, Management of Technical Education and Professional Counseling offering three specializations. The Masters of Business Administration is one of the original programs offered in Round Rock and is the second largest major. The Master’s in Public Administration program has been offered in downtown Austin by the State Capital for almost 30 years and focuses on State government.

Students interested in computers and technology can enroll in the Computer Science or the Software Engineering master's programs. The Master of Arts with a major in Technical Communication, offered through the English Department, prepares students to write and communicate effectively in the rapidly changing and expanding technological and professional worlds and to pursue doctoral work in Technical Communication and related fields. And again, students who have acquired significant work experience or earned some graduate level credits beyond a Bachelor’s degree can complete a Master’s degree through the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (MSIS). This program allows students to earn credit for past experience and then individualizes a degree completion plan.
