Texas State Round Rock has partnered with Caldwell Heights Elementary School since 2008 to recruit mentors for The STARS Mentor Program, a school-based program encompassing students in grades K-12. The Mentor Program provides an opportunity for business and community volunteers to improve student academic attitude and enhance their school experience by acting as a positive role model, building a friendship and exploring college and career opportunities. Just 30 minutes a week during the 2011-2012 academic year could make a difference in the life of an elementary school student.

For two years in a row, Caldwell Heights Elementary has named someone from the Texas State Community as their Mentor of the Year – 2009-2010 Alexandra Ekstrum and 2010-2011 Jill Seidenberger.
